SIGNALLING STAFF in South Wales are all set to go on strike. 

Starting this Monday, the industrial action is scheduled to last for six days.  It has been called in protest at the imposition of cost-cutting rosters – where some employees face working 13 days on the trot.

The action will be centered around the new South Wales Control Centre.  Signal staff are angry that the new rosters have been imposed upon them by Network Rail.  They believe that they are both a cost cutting measure and an attempt to cast aside existing working agreements.
