Councillors in Leeds have shown themselves up as hypocrites. The council want to slash average wages for 'Streetscene' workers form £18,000 to less than £13,000. The Streetscene department is responsible for refuse collection, street cleaning and waste disposal.
Richard Brett, the Council leader, was asked in a live broadcast whether he and his fellows should take a cut in their allowances. No, said he, their allowances were "modest".
Councillor Brett was paid £45,883 last year from public funds with other Councillors pocketing between £14,000 and £36,000 in the same period. In the same year senior Council officers enjoyed pay rises of up to £12,000 a year.

''modest'' !! Why does'nt 'Dick' Brett cut his wage down to £13,000? Hypocrite? - that's an understatement, he's a capitalist fascist! guilty of prolonging the oppressive class system! Greedy capitalist fascists like 'Dick' Brett should be voted out of office and then be given an application form as a streetscene worker - a proper job!
